asked the Minister for Lands (a) the total number of applicants for migration from County Sligo outstanding on 31st December, 1962, (b) the number of migrations from County Sligo during the five years ended 31st December, 1962, (c) the number of migrations from other congested counties in the Republic during the same period, and (d) the number of applicants it is proposed to migrate from County Sligo during the year 1963-64.

Land Commission records are compiled by reference to financial years. On this basis, replies to the various parts of the Question are as follows:—
(a) Since 1st April, 1957, a total of 64 applications for migration was received from County Sligo applicants.
(b) During the five years ended 31st March, 1962, two Sligo landowners were migrated.
(c) During the same period, a total of 380 landowners in the eight other congested counties were migrated.
(d) I would refer the Deputy to the final paragraph of my reply to his question of 30th May last which sets out the general position relating to the migration programme each year. In the circumstances, it is not practicable at this stage to forecast what migrations—from County Sligo or elsewhere—will be feasible during the year 1963-64.
