Vol. 199 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Director of Telefís Éireann.

34.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs what is the salary and total emoluments to be paid to the new Director of Telefís Éireann.

The salary of the new Director General of Radio Éireann as fixed by the Authority is £5,500 per annum. He is provided with a motor car in connection with his duties and Radio Éireann is contributing part of the cost of the premiums on an insurance policy designed to provide him with superannuation benefits.

Could the Minister say what the estimated total would be of these emoluments?

The total, including the motor car?

I have given the Deputy the answer. I could not know what the actual money value would be in advance.
