While the provision of playing fields for older schemes or in association with central city flat schemes presents problems for the future planning of the city, the Dublin Corporation have provided and are providing space for recreational purposes in their suburban housing schemes.
The necessity to provide adequate recreational space in or adjacent to new schemes is a matter which my Department asks local authorities to consider when the layouts for such schemes are being prepared.
