I understand that this expanse of inferior land is still in use by the Department of Defence and is not regarded as generally suitable for land settlement.
No doubt the Deputy is aware that substantial areas formerly held by the Minister for Defence in this county, were taken over and allotted by the Land Commission in recent years.
