The question of granting planning permission for the erection of a shop in any area is a matter for the planning authority in the first instance. It is only in the event of an appeal against that authority's decision that I would have any functions in the matter. No useful purpose would, therefore, be served by my receiving a deputation as requested by the Deputy.
