asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider amending Section 27 (3) of the Revenue Act, 1889, as this particular section is proving to be most unsatisfactory.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Methylated Spirits.
6.
Section 27 (3) of the Revenue Act, 1889, reads as follows:—
(3) Every person who makes or sells methylated spirits without being duly licensed or authorised in that behalf shall, in addition to any other penalty or forfeiture, incur a fine of fifty pounds.
This licensing requirement is a necessary part of the system of control over the distribution of methylated spirits. am not aware that the section proving to be unsatisfactory and I see no reason to amend it.
