asked the Minister for Finance whether, further to a reply of 14th February, 1962, with regard to the flooding of the Assaly River at Killinick, County Wexford, the examination and correlation of survey data for a drainage scheme in this area is now complete; whether any decision has been reached on such a scheme; and, if so, at what date work will commence.

The further field investigations have been carried out but study of the data collected has disclosed that it is extremely difficult to produce a satisfactory scheme within reasonable limits of cost — several designs have been worked out by the engineers without favourable results.
The matter is being further studied, however, and I am promised a final report for consideration within the next month.
