On 1st March, 1963, I received a representative local deputation from Sligo which urged very strongly that the present activities and employment at the spinning factory should be continued until such time as either full production is resumed or some new project gets under way. I have since conveyed to the company my earnest wish that this request be given sympathetic consideration. While the decision in this matter must rest with the company, I am hopeful that it may be possible for them to agree to extend the period of employment of those now engaged at the factory.
