In a letter dated 11th January, 1963, the former principal teacher of S.N. Briocáin, An Gort Mór, conveyed his intention of retiring from the teaching service.
The principalship became vacant on Friday, 1st February, 1963. The question of the appointment of a successor is primarily one for the manager of the school subject to the Rules and Regulations for National Schools. My Department is awaiting a proposal in the matter from the manager.
