(a) The figures for the Civil Service supplied in the answer to the question of 8 May, 1962, were, as the note to that question indicated, derived from the Civil Service census. That pattern has again been adopted in computing the figures set out above. As the figure for overtime is not available until some time after the end of the financial year, the 1963 figure contains an estimated amount for overtime and is to some extent provisional.
