There is in this country a laboratory designated as a WHO Influenza Centre, the purpose of which is the isolation of epidemic strains of influenza and the exchange of information on an international basis regarding epidemics. This Centre, at the request of the World Health Organisation, has participated in investigations concerning the role and importance of animals in the epidemiology of the disease.
