The proposed sale of the two Spitfire Aircraft was not advertised in the press because little local interest in these machines, which are not in a flyable condition, was anticipated. When it was decided to dispose of these aircraft, tender forms were issued to all persons who had, over the past few years, made inquiries as to the possibility of the purchase of such aircraft. Over 90 tender forms have been issued to date. The latest date for the return of tender forms is 10 Meitheamh, 1963.
