Vol. 202 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Pay and Allowances.

45.

andMr. McQuillan asked the Minister for Defence the rate of pay for each class of personnel in the Defence Forces; and the rate of subsistence, ration and any other allowance to which each grade is entitled.

As the Deputies are, no doubt, aware, certain information as to the rates of pay of personnel of the Permanent Defence Force is contained in the details under Vote 45— Defence, in the Volume of Estimates for the Public Services for the year ending 31st March, 1964 (Pr. 6711). More comprehensive details of pay and allowances for the Permanent Defence Force are contained in Defence Force Regulations S.3, Pay and Allowances (Permanent Defence Force), and Defence Force Regulations A. 14, Army Nursing Service. Copies of these regulations are available in the library of the Oireachtas.

When on full time training or service, members of the Reserve Defence Force are paid, mutatis mutandis, the same rates of pay and allowances as are applicable to officers and men of the Permanent Defence Force.
