asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission propose shortly to introduce a scheme whereby advances in excess of the present maximum of £200 will be made to land annuitants, in order to supplement Department of Local Government grants for the erection of new dwelling houses containing at least four rooms; and, if so, if he will give details of this new scheme.

The question of increasing the amount of Land Commission advances to supplement housing grants made by the Department of Local Government is at present under examination. I shall make an announcement in the matter when details of the revised scheme have been finalised.
