Vol. 202 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Disposal of Uncollected Goods.

53.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will consider introducing legislation similar to the English Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act, 1952, whereby a person who receives goods for the purpose of repairing them for reward may sell them to compensate himself for service, storage charges, etc., should the owner fail to collect them or pay for the repairs within a reasonable period.

The law of bailment is being reviewed as part of the law reform programme and in the course of this review the provisions of the Act referred to by the Deputy will be taken into consideration.
