Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Memorial to late President Kennedy.

2.

asked the Taoiseach if the Government will consider commemorating in a suitable manner the memory of the late President John F. Kennedy.

3.

Mr. Brady

asked the Taoiseach if the Government have considered the question of an appropriate commemorative memorial to the late President Kennedy; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

With your permission, Sir, I propose to take Questions Nos. 2 and 3 together.

The Government have decided that a State memorial to the late President Kennedy should be erected. Before taking a decision regarding its form, the advice of An Chomhairle Ealaíon will be sought.

Could the Taoiseach say in that connection if, before a final decision is taken, it is proposed to consult other Parties in the House?

I shall consider that.
