Vol. 206 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Land Acquisition.

45.

asked the Minister for Lands the location and acreage of land acquired, or being acquired, by the Land Commission in Dublin County constituency; and what steps are being taken to allocate portions of these estates to local deserving applicants before the Spring sowing season.

The Land Commission have on hands in County Dublin a 279 acre estate, at Kilcoskan and other townlands in the Ashbourne area, acquired last March. Acquisition proceedings in respect of two properties aggregating 275 acres, at Balscadden and other townlands in the Balbriggan district, are in the final stages: in fact, possession arrangements have been made for today. In addition, two small areas, namely, 36 acres in the Tallaght district and eight acres in Rush are pending for allotment following exchanges. There will be no avoidable delay in the disposal of these lands which will be allocated, as far as practicable by next spring.
