Vol. 206 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Minimum Wage Rates for Female Farm Workers.

12.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that the Agricultural Wages Board now propose to fix minimum rates of wages for all male farm workers over school-leaving age in all areas; and if he will indicate the reason why no minimum rates have been fixed for female farm workers outside Counties Dublin and Kildare.

I am so aware. I am not conversant with all the reasons for any decision which the Agricultural Wages Board may arrive at but I understand that their decision in this matter was influenced by the number of female agricultural workers employed in these counties.
