asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the public dissatisfaction concerning the lack of water and sewerage services at Dardistown, Cloghran, County Dublin; and if he will consider the plight of cottagers and others in this area, which is adjacent to Dublin Airport, with a view to securing the co-operation of the Department of Transport and Power and the local authority so that the existing airport drainage system may be used to remedy this unsatisfactory situation.

I understand that the area will be served in due course by Dublin North Regional Water Supply Scheme. The drainage of additional areas in North County Dublin is the subject of consultations between the council and Dublin Corporation at present. I am informed that the use of the Airport water supply and sewerage systems to service the area is not a practicable proposition.
Is the Minister aware that those of us who represent County Dublin have been hearing about the Dublin North Regional Water Supply Scheme during the past 20 years since the Tánaiste occupied the position now occupied by the Minister, that we have yet to see any positive results of the efforts to relieve the hardship caused by lack of water and sewerage facilities; does he not consider it is aggravating to people who have lived in or about the Airport for generations to see these services running right by their doors while they are denied the services, when it is perfectly patent that some arrangement could be made to relieve them by making use of the sewerage and water systems already there; and could he say what he means when he says this area will be served in due course? What exactly is meant by "in due course"? When will this proposed scheme come to fruition?
I understand the Dublin North Regional Water Supply Scheme should be available for 1966.
