Vol. 207 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary Houses.

32.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of houses erected for workers in South Tipperary by the local authority for the years 1922 to 1932, the number erected since 1932, the number in course of erection and the number now estimated to meet the requirements of the workers of South Tipperary.

Tipperary (SR) County Council provided no houses under the Labourers Acts during the years 1922 to 1932. They provided 1,657 between 1st April, 1932 and 31st January, 1964, and had under construction 19 on the latter date.

I have no information on the overall housing needs to be met by Tipperary (SR) County Council. The unfit housing survey carried out recently by this housing authority disclosed 1,082 unfit houses of which 507 are regarded as being incapable of repair at reasonable cost.

Question No. 33 withdrawn.
