asked the Minister for Education in respect of each of the years 1933, 1943, 1953 and 1963 the percentage of the total number of candidates (a) who took science in the Intermediate Certificate Examination and (b) who took (i) chemistry and (ii) physics in the Leaving Certificate Examination.

The reply is in the form of a statement which with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated in the Official Report.
