Vol. 207 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Bog.

8.

asked the Minister for Lands if, in view of the fact that there is a large number of tenants of the Land Commission in the locality who need turbary badly, the Land Commission will consider the propriety of dividing the Abbert Bog, Ballyglunin, County Galway, which they have been letting for a number of years.

Following the expenditure by the Land Commission of some £3,000 on development works on this bog, including the unallotted residue in question, outstanding local needs have been temporarily catered for by means of seasonal lettings. There will be no avoidable delay in the formulation of proposals for permanent allocation of turf banks in the area still on hands.
