Preliminary plans for the bridge have been submitted by Wexford County Council and are at present the subject of consultation between the Department's engineering advisers and the council's consultant. Every effort is being made to expedite the essential preliminaries to the invitation of tenders. It is not possible to say at this stage when work will begin on the construction of the new bridge.
