Mr. T. Lynch

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the total indebtedness of each local authority in respect of loans at the latest available date, and the amount of interest and principal to be paid back each year by each local authority on each loan.

NOTES

1. The above figures are provisional. Actual figures for the year ended 31st March, 1963, are not yet available in respect of all local authorities.

2. The amount of principal and interest to be repaid each year by each local authority on each loan is not available in the Department.

3. Figures of the indebtedness of county committees of agriculture, vocational education committees and harbour authorities are not available in the Department.

4. The figures in respect of county borough corporations and urban district councils include amounts in sinking funds (£2,737,150 and £188,143 respectively).

5. The figures in respect of town commissioners do not include amounts raised on their behalf by county councils. These amounts are included as indebtedness of county councils.
