asked the Minister for Local Government if his attention has been drawn to a report of a resolution passed by a representative number of NFA branches in Mayo, Galway and Roscommon stating that farmers are prepared to pay their fair share of rates in the form of a land tax, as outlined in the NFA seven-year plan for agriculture; and if he is prepared to consider sympathetically this plan with a view to stabilising rising overheads in agriculture.

I have not seen the report referred to. The National Farmers' Association's proposals in regard to rates on land and farm buildings are being examined.
