NOTES: (a) The figures for the Civil Service supplied in the answer to the question of 4th April 1963 were, as the note to that question indicated, derived from the Civil Service Census. That pattern has again been followed in computing the figures set out above; an appropriate addition has been made to the 1964 figure for the cost of the ninth round. The 1964 figure contains an estimated amount for overtime and is to that extent provisional.
