Vol. 208 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Minister's Talks with Norwegian Government.

5.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will make a statement on the subject matter and results of his talks with the Norwegian Government on his recent visit to Norway.

My mission to Norway was an official visit of goodwill on the kind invitation of the Norwegian Government. There was no set agenda for discussion. I was, of course, very glad of the opportunity my visit gave me to discuss with members of the Norwegian Government many matters of mutual interest in the European and international spheres.

The Cultural Agreement, which I signed in Oslo, is intended to form a basis for expanded cultural activity between Norway and Ireland. It is the earnest wish of both our Governments that the agreement will foster more intimate connections generally between our peoples.
