asked the Minister for Finance if he will give particulars of Exchequer revenue receipts for the year 1963-64 in the terms of the reply to Question No. 53 of 4th April, 1963.
Written Answers. - Exchequer Revenue Receipts.
Following is the information:—
(1) Customs Duties.
The amount collected by way of customs duties in the nine months ended 31st December, 1963, was £35,941,689. Statement A attached gives particulars of receipts of customs duty under individual headings in cases where the net receipts under such headings exceeded £10,000 in the nine months April to December, 1963. Since the introduction of the new form of Customs Tariff on 1st January, 1963, the accounts of the receipts from customs duties are kept under headings which are not directly comparable with those formerly in use. Accordingly it is not possible to furnish details of receipts under the same headings as appeared in the reply to Question 53 of 4th April, 1963.
(2) Excise Duties.
The particulars requested are given in statement B.
(3) Death Duties.
(4) Income Tax.
(5) Sur-Tax.
(6) Corporation Profits Tax.
The particulars requested under heads (3) to (6) are given in statement C.
(7) Net Revenue Receipts paid into Exchequer.
The particulars requested are given in statement D.
