Vol. 208 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Water and Sewerage Schemes.

51.

asked the Minister for Local Government what progress has been made since his last statement on the matter with regard to the Moyvane County Kerry water and sewerage schemes; and when these schemes will be completed.

The position is as stated in my reply to the Deputy's previous question of 8th May, 1963, in which I informed him that both schemes had been completed and were in operation.

52.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that work on the sewerage scheme at Ardfert, County Kerry, is now almost complete, while there is as yet no piped water scheme for the district; and whether the county council officials and the consulting engineer concerned are satisfied that there will be a piped water supply available by the time the sewerage scheme is completed.

There is already a piped water supply in Ardfert and, as stated in my reply to the Deputy's previous question of 8th May, 1963, that water supply will enable the sewerage scheme to operate pending the provision of the regional water supply scheme.

53.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position with regard to the proposal of the Kerry County Council in connection with the regional water supply scheme for Castleisland; and what progress has been made by his Department since his last reply on this matter.

I understand that the county council have not yet completed arrangements for the acquisition of the necessary water rights.
