Vol. 209 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Compulsory Purchase Order.

46.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will furnish details of the housing needs advanced in respect of a certain compulsory purchase order (particulars supplied).

The evidence of housing needs which was produced at the local inquiry held in connection with the compulsory purchase order in question was not presented in such detail as would enable me to give a reply to this question in the form requested by the Deputy. The evidence indicated that 39 dwellings were needed to house 12 families who were living in unfit dwellings, 11 families who were living in very overcrowded dwellings, eight families who were living in dwellings which were overcrowded to a lesser extent and a further eight families who would be entitled to be housed by the council. The evidence indicated further that with the exception of the 12 families living in unfit dwellings and one other family, all these families were residing in local authority houses.
