asked the Minister for Lands the present position in regard to the estate of Mr. John Poole, Slatt, Wolfhill and Doonane, County Laois, which was purchased by a German some time ago; if the Land Commission will now take over this holding, as the new owner is prepared to give it to them if agreement on price can be reached; and if, in view of the great congestion which exists in this area, he will ask the Land Commission to treat the case as one of special urgency.

Proceedings for acquisition of this 262 acre estate were instituted some months ago. The question of price is at present under consideration but it is still too early to forecast the outcome. There will be no avoidable delay in dealing with the matter.
