Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance the number and value of (a) customs fines imposed by the Courts, and (b) compromise penalties accepted by the Revenue Commissioners in lieu of the institution of legal proceedings in respect of alleged customs offences in each of the last seven years.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance the number and value of (a) customs fines imposed by the Courts, and (b) compromise penalties accepted by the Revenue Commissioners in respect of incidents at (i) Dublin Airport, (ii) Shannon Airport, (iii) Cork Airport, (iv) Dún Laoghaire Harbour, (v) Dublin Harbour, (vi) Cork and Cobh Harbours, and (vii) Rosslare Harbour in each of the last three years.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 4 and 5 together.

The information asked for in the questions is not readily available. If the Deputy will repeat his questions in three weeks' time, I will supply him with the information so far as it is obtainable without undue expenditure of official time.
