Tariffs on industrial products generally have been reduced by 20 per cent and a further reduction of 10 per cent will be made on the 1st January, 1965. Future policy in regard to the reduction of tariffs will be determined by developments arising from membership of international trade groups as well as by the desirability of providing a stimulus for industrial re-adaptation and increased competitiveness.
