NOTE: The particulars above relate to the main cable route between Dublin and Cork exchanges. All the interruptions were partial, i.e., they affected some—not all—of the cable circuits in each case. The effects of the interruptions on the service to callers were minimised by the use of alternative routes between the two cities.
