Statistics are kept of interest paid, as distinct from interest charged, on outstanding income tax, sur-tax or corporation profits tax. Between 1st January, 1963—the earliest date from which interest commenced to run under the relevant legislation—and 30th October, 1964, the total amount of interest paid was £41,245.
