Vol. 215 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Employment.

3.

asked the Taoiseach if he will bring Table 7 of Economic Statistics, 1963, up to date; and if he will state the reason for excluding this important table which records the downward trend of employment and employees on the land from Economic Statistics, 1965.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to include in the Official Report a statement giving the data requested by the Deputy. The information has already been published in somewhat greater detail on page 282 of the December, 1964, issue of the Irish Statistical Bulletin.

While the figures which appear in the last column of the statement were given in Table 5 of Economic Statistics, in view of the prior publication of the detail it was not considered necessary to reproduce the full table in question in the 1964 and 1965 issues of Economic Statistics.

Following is the statement:—
