Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Lands.

33.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission propose to undertake the rearrangement and striping of lands in the Roscahill area, County Galway.

It is not possible, as yet, to indicate when rearrangement of holdings in this area can be effected. The acquisition of additional land is an essential prerequisite to the work and, to this end, a number of vacant holdings in the locality have been noted for inquiry by the Land Commission. Agreement was recently reached for the purchase of a 19-acre holding in the district.

34.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission propose to undertake adjustment and striping of lands in the Corrandulla area, County Galway.

The allotment by the Land Commission in March last of some 450 acres in this district generally, resulted in the rearrangement or enlargement of 36 holdings and the resettlement of two local migrants. Efforts are continuing to secure additional land with a view to carrying out further structural reform in the locality.
