I am informed by the ESB that Loughnahirk is situated in their Glencolumbcille rural area, which was originally developed under the Rural Electrification Scheme in 1954-55. Under their planned post-development programme, they have scheduled the re-canvass of this area for next April. If they were to re-canvass this or any other area out of turn, the planned programme would be disrupted, with resultant increase in costs and less favourable terms of supply for applicants.
