asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the applications for improvements to piers, slips and harbours in the South-West Cork area at present being dealt with by his Department; and if he will give the present position in each case.

The information sought by the Deputy is in a statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be included in the Official Report.

Improvement of landing facities.

Deferred pending acquisition of site and right of way by Cork County Council.

Garnish (Dursey)

Removal of rocks, provision of marker beacon and construction of stormwall.

Completed with exception of the marker beacon.

Hare Island (East End) Slip

Extension of slipway and stormwall, redecking slip and minor repairs.

It is hoped to commence work this year.

Laurence Cove, Bere Island

Resurfacing of portion of pier and removal of loose stones and silt.

Reen Pier, Castletownshend

Removal of jetty, extension of pier and dredging.

It is hoped to commence work next spring.

Extension of pier and slip-way providing steps

In progress.

(b) Tranaha

Redecking and extending existing slip

Myross Slip

Reconstruction of slipway

Engineering report furnished to sponsoring Department for consideration.

Skerkin Island (Abbey Strand

Removal of rock and extension of pier

South Drum, Castletownbere

Construction of breakwater, erection of steps and provision of mooring rings.

Site inspected and engineering report with estimate being prepared.
