Vol. 216 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - O'Connell Street Public Toilet.

9.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Local Government why the peak period of the tourist season should be considered the most appropriate time for closing the only public toilet in O'Connell Street for alteration; and whether he will arrange for these alterations to be undertaken at night.

I understand from Dublin Corporation that it is intended to have the work completed by the end of the present month and before the peak of the tourist season. I have been informed by the corporation that owing to the nature of the work it would have not been feasible to have had it carried out at night and have the convenience available for use in the daytime.
