The advertisements in question were issued by me in the exercise of the powers, duties and functions provided for in subsection (vii) of section 1 of the Ministers and Secretaries Act, 1924, as transferred to me under the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Orders, 1959 and 1960, made by the Government under subsection (1) of section 6 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939. The cost of the advertisements was £459.
