The bodies in the State under the aegis of my Department, which are entitled to issue grants direct and the purpose for which these are given are as follows:—

(a) Towards the cost of accommodation and travel of apprentices attending certain courses in technical schools and |

(b) to defray administrative expenses of members of local Advisory Apprenticeship Committees. |

(a) To assist bodies engaged in industrial education and training and |
|
(b) to help defray the cost of study visits designed to improve efficiency. |
My Department of course also makes grants direct for (a) the promotion of efficiency in industry and in distribution (Technical Assistance Grants) (b) to assist producers affected by the imposition of the Special Charge on goods imported into the United Kingdom; and (c) towards the cost of the administration of Adaptation Councils.
