asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if it is proposed to transfer the carriage of post office mails and parcels from CIE.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Carriage of Mails and Parcels.
48.
The answer is no, so far as the great bulk of mails and parcels carried by CIE is concerned.
In the Dublin central city area, certain services normally undertaken by the Post Office itself, including the delivery of parcel post, are being performed under contract by CIE because of lack of facilities in Post Office premises. On completion of the new Central Sorting Office, these services will be taken over by my Department.
