asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of sick-pay schemes operated by each health authority in the form of a reply of 29th June, 1965.

The information requested is as follows:

NOTES:

(a) "Sick pay" as used in the above statement means generally the amount required to bring Social Welfare Benefit up to the employees' normal weekly rate of wages.

(b) The schemes generally apply to pensionable servants.

(c) Sick pay is not allowed for the first three days' illness, unless, generally, the period of illness is longer than a fortnight.

(d) The sick pay period is allowed in a period of 12 months.

(e) Roscommon County Council has decided to adopt a sick pay scheme on the 1st January, 1966, which will allow: 4 weeks at sick pay; 6 weeks at half sick pay. The following authorities are considering adopting the same scheme: Offaly County Council, Laoighis-Offaly and Sligo-Leitrim Mental Health Boards. Waterford Health Authority and Donegal and Laoighis County Councils are considering the introduction of this scheme in place of their existing schemes.
