Vol. 220 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Housing Loans.

43.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government if he will now sanction the loan of £116,000 to Carrick-on-Suir Urban Council, County Tipperary for the erection of 52 houses at St. John's Road, Carrick-on-Suir, for which application was made on 24th August 1965 and the tender for which has been accepted and approved by him, as the contractor is anxious and willing to commence the work and in view of the hardship and additional cost involved in further delay.

44.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he expects to sanction a loan for the erection of a scheme of 52 houses at St. John's Road, Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary; and if, in view of the urgent need for housing in the area and the fact that further delay will in all probability mean an increase in the cost of the scheme, he will expedite the sanctioning of this loan.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 43 and 44 together.

I am not yet in a position to say when this loan will be sanctioned but I hope that it will be possible to give a decision in the near future.

45.

asked the Minister for Local Government when an application for a loan for the erection of houses by Clonmel Corporation at Old Bridge, Clonmel, was submitted to his Department for sanction; and when he expects to sanction this loan.

Application for sanction to this loan was received on 10th September last. I am not yet in a position to say when a decision will be given on the application.

46.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he expects to approve the balance of the loan for the erection of a scheme of SDA houses by the National Building Agency at Gortmalogue, Clonmel, County Tipperary.

I hope to be in a position shortly to inform the corporation of the amount of moneys which will be available to them in the coming financial year to meet payments on foot of house purchase loans.
