Vol. 220 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Premises of Cerebral Palsy Association.

78.

Mr. Barrett

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the urgent necessity of making a grant to the Cork Branch of the National Association for Cerebral Palsy, Limited for the purpose of extending their premises; and that if funds are not made available the Association will find it necessary to refuse treatment and schooling to many physically handicapped children; and when the necessary grant is likely to be made.

I am aware of the urgent necessity of providing a new school to accommodate the pupils of the Spastic school of the Divine Child in Cork, and the matter is being dealt with in my Department as one of urgency.

A grant will be sanctioned when the revised sketch plans for the new school have been received and approved and the other necessary preliminaries in regard to title etc. have been completed.
