Notes:
Records of export subsidies are kept on the basis of financial years only. In the case of butter the figures relate to sales on the export market and not to quantities actually exported in the particular financial year. In the case of other products the figures include unpaid balances of subsidy on exports in earlier years. The 1964/65 figures for non-butter products relate to subsidy payments on account only and are subject to finalisation.
No subsidy has been paid in respect of exports of milk or condensed milk.
Of the total subsidies set out £17,507,948 has been paid by the Exchequer and the balance from the proceeds of levies on creamery butter and milk.
In addition a milk production allowance of Id. per gallon from 1st June, 1962 to 30th April, 1963, of 2d. per gallon from 1st May, 1963 to 30th April, 1964, and of 4d. per gallon from 1st May, 1964 to date has been paid from the Exchequer to creameries on all milk received for processing.
