The wire grille referred to by the Deputy was provided in 1930 following a request from the Office of the Houses of the Oireachtas, and while it may not be entirely appropriate I think it will be generally agreed that some form of protective screen is desirable.
I shall have the matter fully examined and a report made for consideration by the Committee on Procedure and Privileges. I should point out, however, that the design and provision of a suitable alternative may not be a simple or inexpensive matter.
