Vol. 221 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supply and Sewerage Schemes.

42.

andMr. McAuliffe asked the Minister for Local Government the cause of the delay in the extension of the Newmarket, County Cork, water supply to Cullen and Knocknagree.

The areas referred to by the Deputies are included in the proposed Newmarket - Knocknagree regional water supply scheme, a preliminary report on which is still under examination in my Department.

43.

asked the Minister for Local Government why the water grant due to James Folan of Herbertstown, Newlands, Naas, County Kildare, has not been paid.

A recent inspection has revealed that the work in this case has been satisfactorily completed. Arrangements are now being made for early payment of the grant of £50 already allocated.

44.

asked the Minister for Local Government if there are any proposals in his Department for the extension of the public sewerage in the Enniscorthy Urban area, County Wexford, to St. Senans where a number of new houses have been erected recently; and when work is likely to start.

As I informed the Deputy in reply to his previous question on 22 June, 1965, revised documents for the design of the scheme were approved by me in May, 1965. I understand that contract documents are at present being prepared by the sanitary authority. I am not, therefore, in a position to say when work is likely to start.
