Vol. 221 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Labour Court.

74.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the total number of cases involving the services of the Labour Court in each of the past three years; and the number of such cases which resulted in agreement between the parties concerned.

The Labour Court dealt with 366 cases of trade disputes in 1963 and 344 of these cases were settled either by conciliation, or by the acceptance by both sides of a Court recommendation, or by arbitration arranged by the Court. The corresponding figures for 1964 were 405 cases of trade disputes and 378 settlements on the same lines as those for 1963.

I am informed by the Labour Court that figures for 1965 are not yet available. They will, of course, be published in due coure in the annual report of the Court.
